Radhe's Seeti Maar: List Of Bollywood Songs Recreated From Regional Music
Salman Khan and Disha Patani’s Seeti Maar from Radhe, joins the list of songs that made their way from regional films to Bollywood
Bollywood’s fascination with recreation and regional markets is now age-old. From remaking films, to actors crossing over, everything has now transcended the barriers of language. Salman Khan and Disha Patani’s recently released song, Seeti Maar from Radhe, which is a remake of Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde’s song of the same name from the Telugu film DJ, joins the list of songs that paved their way into Bollywood from regional music.
Seeti Maar
Allu arjun and Pooja Hegde brought their A-game in dancing for the peppy Telugu track three years ago. Now, Salman and Disha took it to a wider reach and presented it with a mix of Disha’s sex-appeal and Salman’s swag.
Dhinka Chika
Recreating South songs for his films is nothing new for Salman and music composer Devi Sri Prasad. Ten years ago, the actor gave one of the year’s most popular tracks, which still holds its place in Indian music, Dhinka Chika along with its signature pocket step. But that song was actually a remake of another Allu Arjun classic, Ringa Ringa, from his 2009 film Arya 2.
Aa Ante Amlapuram
While Salman chose Arya 2’s Ringa Ringa, in Sonu Sood’s 2012 action film, Maximum, Hazel Keech grooved to the Hindi version of the song Aa Ante Amlapuram, which originally featured in the 2004 original film, Arya.
Daddy Mummy
In this song from the 2015 thriller Bhaag Johnny, Urvashi Rautela and Kunal Kemmu danced to the Hindi recreation of the song, Akalesthey from Shankar Baba Zindabad, which had also inspired the Telugu song from the same name as in Hindi, for the 2009 film Villu.
Zingaat
Zingaat became a Marathi anthem for everyone in the state and all over the country when it was released in the highly successful Sairat. And when the film was remade in Hindi with Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor, Karan Johar couldn’t stop himself from bringing this iconic song to the Hindi market with it’s recreated version.
Chinta Ta Chita Chita
When Akshay Kumar remade Ravi Teja’s 2006 action dramedy Vikramarkudu in 2012 as Rowdy Rathore, he also brought his catch phrase music with him, recreating the song College Papala into Chinta Ta Chita Chita for the Hindi market.
Chikni Chameli
In 2006, music composer Ajay-Atul gave one of the most popular Marathi tracks to the world with Kombdi Palali in the Marathi film Jatra: Hyalagaad Re Tyalagaad. But it wasn’t until five years later that the song became a worldwide sensation when Katrina Kaif grooved to it as Chikni Chameli in Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath.
